Accounts Payable Specialist (Direct Hire)

Construction Company – Broken Arrow, Oklahoma

We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our growing construction company in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. This position is responsible for accurately processing invoices, maintaining vendor accounts, reconciling statements, and supporting the company’s day-to-day accounting operations.

The ideal candidate is organized, accurate, and comfortable working in a fast-paced construction environment with multiple projects, vendors, and deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

• Review, code, and process vendor and subcontractor invoices.
• Match invoices with purchase orders, receipts, and supporting documentation.
• Enter invoices and payment information into the accounting system.
• Prepare weekly check runs and electronic payments.
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve billing discrepancies.
• Maintain accurate vendor records, W-9 forms, and payment documentation.
• Track lien waivers, certificates of insurance, and subcontractor paperwork when required.
• Process employee expense reports and company credit card transactions.
• Assist with job-cost coding and allocating expenses to the correct projects.
• Respond to vendor questions regarding invoices and payment status.
• Maintain organized electronic and physical accounting records.
• Assist the accounting department with audits, month-end closing, and other assigned duties.

Qualifications

• Previous accounts payable or accounting experience required.
• Construction industry experience is strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of job costing, purchase orders, and subcontractor billing is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
• Excellent organization, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
• Ability to handle confidential financial information professionally.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; accounting education is preferred.
