About the Role The Transportation Coordinator manages the strategic logistics and daily execution of MAI’s complex school transportation system. The role oversees daily student routing, specialized transport, and intricate athletic team travel schedules. It blends operational oversight with hands-on execution, ensuring strict safety and regulatory compliance while actively serving as a driver when needed. What You Will Do Orchestrate daily logistics and scheduling for all school transit, including routine student routes and complex athletic team travel. Balance office-based operations—route optimization, safety compliance, and driver scheduling—with hands-on execution, regularly stepping behind the wheel as an active driver to keep the community moving safely and efficiently. Who You Are Highly organized, reliable, with an impeccable driving record and pride in safe vehicle operation. Calm under pressure, analytical, solves complex logistical puzzles, adaptable, works with minimal supervision, exercises excellent judgment and discretion, maintains confidentiality, and communicates clearly across the school community. Qualifications High School Diploma (or equivalent) required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Proven experience designing, implementing, and optimizing complex logistics, scheduling matrices, or multi-tiered routing systems (e.g., school transit or multi-sport athletic travel). Valid driver’s license with an impeccable driving record; CDL preferred. Ability and willingness to manage office-based operational logistics while simultaneously serving as an active driver for daily routes and school events. Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local DOT regulations, safety standards, and vehicle compliance protocols. Compensation and Benefits 12-month role; salary: $70,000.
