About the Role

BANA LAW is a plaintiff-side personal injury firm seeking a Senior Trial Attorney with first-chair trial experience. We take on personal injury, catastrophic injury, wrongful death, TBI, and auto, trucking, motorcycle, rideshare, and pedestrian cases. We're looking for a Senior Trial Attorney who can independently work up and try cases, not just manage a docket. You'll run litigation and trial strategy on personal injury matters from filing through verdict, not just discovery and motion practice, and you'll supervise and develop associate attorneys and paralegals.

Responsibilities

• Serve as lead litigator on a team handling catastrophic injury, wrongful death, TBI, and other high-exposure matters, from filing through trial and post-trial proceedings.
• Build and execute litigation strategy tailored to the facts, the venue, and the client's objectives, not a one-size-fits-all playbook.
• Take and defend depositions, retain and prepare experts, and manage expert testimony through trial.
• Attend mediations, handle settlement negotiations, and try cases to verdict when the offer doesn't reflect the value.
• Own procedural compliance and court deadlines across your caseload, no exceptions.
• Supervise, lead, and mentor associate attorneys and paralegals: review work product, guide strategy calls, and develop them into better trial lawyers.
• Refine and grow your skills within an established litigation firm.
• Give the kind of structured, honest feedback that actually improves a young attorney's trajectory.
• Keep clients directly informed on strategy, case progress, and settlement posture, with the compassion the work demands.
• Partner with our Pre-Litigation team, so files transition into litigation cleanly and with no lost ground.

Qualifications

• J.D. and an active California Bar license in good standing.
• 7+ years of litigation experience, including first-chair jury trial experience to verdict.
• A proven track record you can reference: results, trial outcomes, and memorable cases. (Note SB 37)
• The professional judgment to run complex litigation strategy independently, and the presence to lead a room, whether that's a mediation, a deposition, or a courtroom.
• Real supervisory role.

Required Skills

• First-chair ownership. You run trial strategy on assigned personal injury matters from filing through verdict, not just discovery and motion practice.
• Built to grow. This role has a defined path toward greater leadership responsibilities and equity participation as you build a track record here.
• A team, not a caseload assignment. You'll supervise and develop associate attorneys and paralegals who are invested in getting better, not just staffed on your files.
• Both Plaintiff and Defense attorneys will be considered for this position.

Pay range and compensation package

Compensation: $225,000-$275,000, depending on experience and trial track record.

Prearranged percentage of gross fees from assigned cases, with no cap on potential earnings.
