Here you'll interact daily with team members during the problem resolution process and will partner with other key stakeholders to support our internal customers and their responsibilities.How will you make a difference?As a member of the Global Operations Equipment group, the Lean Manufacturing Specialist will utilize their experience or expertise to solve problems, improve processes, and develop and execute lean objectives. They will demonstrate leadership in communicating business goals, programs, and processes for an area or business segment.What do we want to know about you?Are you an influential team player with strong attention to detail? Are you a collaborative and supportive problem solver with a constant focus on continuous improvement?Experience and QualificationsBachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college with at least 4 years of experience in a lean manufacturing environmentPreference will be given to applicants with Engineering experience in a dynamic manufacturing environment, a bachelor's or Advanced Degree in Engineering or Applied Science highly desired.Knowledge of standard work, value stream mapping, one-piece flow, Kaizen, 5S, and other lean toolsManagerial level presentation skills must be able to sell ideas and influence others.Strong oral and written communication skills, ability to communicate across levels and within a complex matrix.Self-driven, outgoing, energetic, passionate, and positive attitude about change.Strategic and clear thinker that solves and prevents problems.Innovative thinker, able to come with new ideas and willing to take risks to creatively solve issues.Life-long learner who will remain coachable – passion around continuous and technology improvements.This position is an onsite role.What will your typical day look like?Act as a change agent in the implementation of demand flow technology utilizing state of the art tools and methodologiesEstablish and implement team strategies, programs, and practices to achieve world class manufacturing inventory turns and process flowSupport the lean strategy to reduce inventory, lead-time and waste at the manufacturing facilityDrive measurable improvements in productivity and product flowDevelop model lines through the Lean Road map applicationLead Action Workouts: develop pull systems, train personnel and other activities to achieve a world-class lean process flowDevelop value stream maps for the product lines and eliminate process waste through the implementation of lean techniques across the product linesSupport manufacturing and service center team in establishing product flow for plant value streams utilizing visual management toolsEncourage use of Lean tools to pull material from suppliers, through component plants, and into assemblyLead the Special Projects Team analysis for process changes.Collaborate with other salary staff on the test support team to cover responsibilities and share in equal workload distribution.What about the physical demands of the job?Exposure to shop floor requires wearing PPEWalking, climbing, stooping, bending, lifting is all part of the hands-on learning processYou may also be asked to perform other duties outside of your function or trade, for which adequate training will be provided if necessary.Relocation assistance may be provided if eligibility requirements are met.Wabtec will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the U.S. for this opening. Any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a drug screen (as applicable) and fitness for duty test (as applicable).The salary range for this role is between $77,400.00-$110,300.00. The actual salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands and work location.
