Site Inventory Coordinator

The Opportunity Hourly Rate : $24 - $26 per hour Shift : Monday - Friday, 7am - 4pm Location : Wilson, NC In this role you will work closely with Avantor’s Lab and Production Services professionals to serve our customers by performing customized, mission‑based lab work and research protocols that help return time back to science. Experience : 2+ years customer service, inventory replenishment, or material handling experience (preferred). Collaboration Tools : Microsoft Office experience and ability to learn Avantor and/or customer‑based computer systems. Customer‑focused with demonstrated customer service skills and interpersonal skills to support various levels of personnel at the customer site. Strong organizational skills, ability to multitask, meet required deadlines, work independently and as part of a team. Physical: able to lift around 35lb. Cross‑referencing and inside sales experience and knowledge of scientific products and services are a plus. Responsibilities Inventory management for consumables, chemicals, samples, etc.; accurate inventory control; process requests leading to inventory movement on and off site; fulfill customer metrics reporting. Perform inventory functions such as monitoring slow‑moving and dead inventory, conducting cycle counts, yearly physical inventories, and reporting. Provide daily customer service functions and communicate with the customer regarding inventory management. Perform purchasing functions as needed: back‑order reporting and expediting, direct factory shipments, third‑party support, managing quotes, document control, records maintenance, resolving open invoices or pricing issues. Handle all customer service functions including order entry, reporting, maintaining metrics, and cost‑savings tracking. Coordinate shipping activities: ship customer material, handle routine issues, operate basic warehouse equipment, enter shipping information into the customer computer system, equipment inspections. Handle hazardous materials and prepare shipping documentation and packaging requirements. Interface with customer points of contact, purchasing directors, facility directors, and plant managers. Manage consigned, non‑consigned, customer‑owned, or third‑party inventory. Utilize Avantor and customer computer systems (SAP, Citrix, Intranet, Avantor Inventory Management Systems, ChemSW, and customer specific systems) to fulfill job duties. Meet goals and objectives: safety, performance and quality. Create programs for enhanced service efficiencies. Interface with Avantor Sales Force and manufacturer representatives. Document change management. Deliver desktop inbound packages to customer contacts. Update and maintain Standard Operating Procedures. Perform other duties as assigned.
