Construction Estimator

We are seeking an experienced Construction Estimator to prepare accurate, competitive, and commercially sound cost estimates for a range of construction projects. The successful candidate will assess project drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and tender documentation to determine labour, materials, plant, subcontractor, and other associated costs. You will work closely with project managers, quantity surveyors, suppliers, subcontractors, and clients to ensure estimates are comprehensive and aligned with project requirements.


Key responsibilities will include reviewing bid packages and contract documents, identifying potential risks and exclusions, preparing detailed take-offs, obtaining and evaluating supplier and subcontractor quotations, and developing clear tender submissions. You will maintain accurate pricing databases, monitor market conditions and material costs, and support the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and value-engineering proposals. The role will also involve attending site visits and pre-tender meetings, clarifying scope discrepancies, contributing to tender strategies, and assisting with handover documentation once projects are awarded.


Applicants should have previous experience in construction estimating, ideally across commercial, residential, civil, industrial, or refurbishment projects. A strong understanding of construction methods, materials, contracts, and estimating principles is essential, along with the ability to interpret architectural, structural, and services drawings. Proficiency with estimating, quantity take-off, and spreadsheet software is required; experience with digital construction platforms or project management systems would be advantageous. You will need excellent numerical, analytical, organisational, and communication skills, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. The ability to manage multiple tenders, meet deadlines, work independently, and collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders is also important. Relevant qualifications in construction, quantity surveying, building, engineering, or a related discipline will be welcomed.
