Well-recognized, conscientious gastroenterologist in Sterling, Virginia is seeking a full-time medical administrative assistant. On the job training is provided and will include education on diseases of the digestive tract.

Duties:

• Schedule office visit and procedure appointments
• Answer phone
• Check in/ check out
• Collect copays
• Prepare charts (documents for follow-up/new patient appointments)
• Prepare procedure recall letters
• Verify insurances
• Medication prior authorizations
• Patient work up
• Confirm office visits
• Prepare exam rooms
• Request medical records

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a medical office environment preferred but not required
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency in EMR systems and Microsoft Office
• Excellent patient service and communication skills
• Familiarity with medical records management and HIPAA regulations
• Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
• Professional attire required.
