CT Technologist

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled CT Technologist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in a Level 1 trauma center and will be responsible for providing high-quality diagnostic imaging for patients. This position requires a compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.

Responsibilities

• Confirm patient identity and exam verification prior to initiating scans, adhering to department policies and procedures for patient safety.
• Coordinate with physicians to provide necessary diagnostic imaging.
• Prepare patients for scans, explaining procedures to ensure their comfort.
• Insert IVs when necessary for imaging tests.
• Position patients appropriately for scans, utilizing safe patient handling techniques, especially with patients of limited mobility.
• Maintain accurate patient records by documenting essential components in the EPIC system, ensuring that images are correctly identified and sent to the PACS system upon completion of exams.
• Uphold a clean and safe scanning facility at all times.

Requirements

• Current registration as a healthcare professional in New York State, with injection therapy certification required at the time of submission.
• Completion of formal training in an approved School of Radiologic Technology.
• Certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
• Active New York State licensure, to be obtained prior to starting the position.
• At least two (2) years of experience in a Level 1 trauma center.
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association.
• Knowledge of Philips and Siemens imaging equipment is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

• Injection certification preferred; candidates must be willing to complete this during the orientation process.
• Experience with EPIC software is highly desired.
