Vindicator Security Alarm Technician (1565)

Job Title Electronic Security Systems Technician – Johnson Controls Federal Systems, supporting Tyndall Air Force Base, Panama City, FL. May require travel to other project sites. Location Primarily Tyndall Air Force Base, Panama City, FL. Travel up to 25% to other project sites. Pay & Benefits Base salary: $85,000 – $105,000, negotiable based on experience. Bonus: 10% eligible. Benefits: eligible on first day of employment. Paid vacation: 3 weeks, 5 sick days, 3 floating holidays, 10 standard holidays per year (total 6.5 weeks). Travel expenses paid by the company. Responsibilities Act as on‑site project leader to plan, execute, and complete Electronic Security projects (access controls, intrusion detection, CCTV cameras, etc.) with assigned customers in a safe and cost‑effective manner, primarily using Vindicator for access controls (ACU) and intrusion detection (IDS). Perform or delegate tasks required to fully complete assigned projects including system programming, integration, installation coordination, system and network commissioning, and project closeout. Assist with developing project plans and coordinate required resources to ensure timely and cost‑effective installation and completion. Provide work direction to subcontractors, electrical installers, technicians, designers, and administration as necessary. Complete typical installation of hardware design and software programming using established standards as required. Manage and complete loading, device verification, and commissioning of system controllers. Validate system functionality and resolve issues with subcontractors to ensure proper operation. Provide accurate project as‑built and commissioning documentation. Ensure work complies with state, local, and Federal legal requirements and that Johnson Controls staff and subcontractors adhere to all safety standards. Assist with selection, ordering, budgeting, and delivery scheduling of materials. Perform site‑specific training for owner/operator on the total system, ensuring the owner/operator is trained and provided with proper documentation and manuals. Adhere to safety standards, local and national security and fire codes, maintaining a high regard for employee and subcontractor safety. Perform other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Experience with commercial or industrial Electronic Security Systems (access controls, intrusion detection, etc.), LAN infrastructure, virtualized server environments, or cybersecurity. Experience with Vindicator for access controls and intrusion detection. Technical proficiency with fiber and networks. Ability to communicate technical material to a non‑technical audience. Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and general Windows environment. Ability to obtain and maintain required government security clearances as needed. Preferred Qualifications Technical proficiency with fiber and networks. Hands‑on experience with systems design, commissioning, and/or programming of Electronic Security Systems. Experience with a variety of commercial Electronic Security Systems such as Vindicator, Softwarehouse C‑cure 9000, Lenel, Genetech, Bosch BVMS, etc. Experience managing or leading security‑related projects and associated teams. Preferred Education Electronics certification or technical training from an accredited technical school. Active Vindicator IDS and/or ACS certifications. Active Security+ certification.
