Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care to adults in the observation unit, including monitoring, assessment, medication administration, and ongoing re-evaluation of status.
- Perform timely documentation in the electronic medical record and ensure accuracy of orders, MAR, and clinical notes.
- Triage and respond to changes in patient condition; escalate to the appropriate clinician as needed.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team (nursing, physicians, case management, and ancillary staff) to coordinate patient flow and discharge planning.
- Maintain patient safety and infection control practices; participate in care coordination and patient/family education; may float to other areas within competency as needed.

Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience in an acute care setting, with exposure to observation/ED-type environments.
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS required; TNCC preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity observation unit and adapt to varying patient needs.
- Strong clinical judgment, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to staff holidays as part of assignment requirements.
