Position Overview: The HR Generalist will manage day-to-day human resources operations in our Bay Area office, supporting a range of HR, recruiting, office administration, and CEO support activities. This contract-to-hire role requires a self-starter experienced in US HR laws, benefits administration, and state/local California compliance. The ideal candidate will bring energy, reliability, and service-orientation to both people operations and executive support functions.

Key Responsibilities

HR Operations & Compliance

• Administer employee onboarding and offboarding in line with US and California labor law (I-9, E-Verify, W-4, new hire reporting, employment contracts).
• Maintain HRIS data integrity (e.g., Rippling), process employee changes, and support payroll input.
• Coordinate benefits enrollment, manage open enrollment, process qualifying life event changes, and ensure ACA, COBRA, and ERISA compliance for benefits.
• Conduct routine HR compliance audits and maintain up-to-date knowledge of wage/hour, leave, immigration and anti-discrimination laws.
• Manage employee records and digital files on Rippling per legal requirements.

Talent Acquisition & Recruiting

• Post jobs, source candidates, coordinate interviews, and assist managers in compliant hiring practices.
• Schedule and support orientation and new hire training.
• Track recruiting metrics and ensure a positive candidate experience.

Office Administration

• Oversee daily office operations: supplies, visitor management, facility coordination, and vendor relations.
• Plan and execute office events along with the office manager for both internal and external events, celebrations, meetings, and in-person gatherings.
• Manage interaction with building management, service providers, and deliveries.

Executive Support

• Organize all HR and Finance files
• Assist with confidential projects, executive events, and additional administrative tasks as needed.

Employee Experience

• Partner with the HR Head in developing and rolling out employee engagement initiatives and events.
• Answer employee queries on policies, benefits, and HR procedures, escalating complex topics as required.
• Help maintain a culture of inclusion, respect, and operational excellence within the team.

Required Qualifications

• 2+ years in an HR Generalist, Office Admin, or HR Coordinator role with US employment law knowledge; Bay Area/California HR experience strongly preferred.
• Hands-on experience with benefits administration and payroll input
• HRIS experience (Rippling or similar) a plus.
• Familiarity with I-9, E-Verify, wage and hour compliance is a must.
• Excellent organization, communication, and multitasking skills; proactive, reliable, and comfortable with shifting priorities.
• Willing and able to work onsite in our Mountain View/Bay Area office daily.
• Contract Period: 6 months, extendable or conversion to full time based on business need
• Contract Time: 20 Hours Week
• Start Date: Immediate
