Brief Summary: As an HR Assistant and Recruiter, you will be expected to perform the following functions: office/HR/hiring/onboarding administration, supporting recruitment, hiring, and career development; developing, updating, and maintaining policies and databases, preparing reports, maintain all required documentation regarding hiring, onboarding, and employment verification, and policy manuals as required and supporting SRS's hiring needs. Schedule is anticipated to be 06:00 AM-2:30PM or 07:00 AM-3:30 PM.

 

A growth opportunity in the position is anticipated in the future as part of a career and training plan, particularly as the business operates 24/7 and transitions to a weekend shift. Essential functions include but are not limited to the following for Human Resources, Recruitment, and Hiring Liaison positions:

  • Conducting interviews, filtering candidates, and giving feedback to applicants.
  • Conducting onboarding days and managing onboarding documents to be filled out properly. Provide onboarding training for all new hires.
  • Monitor layover and refill positions.
  • Responsible for managing direct search and participating in off-site recruiting events.
  • Sourcing candidates by using websites, databases, and social media.
  • Supporting and training hiring managers, identifying practical hiring solutions, and recommending appropriate action plans and strategies.
  • Works closely with all departments in the organization.
  • Responsible for keeping records per employment law.
  • Provide general administrative and clerical support in the hiring process.
  • Conduct Initial Interviews and assessments.
  • Maintain applicant database, applicant trackers, and recruitment analytics.
  • Participate in internal audits (I-9s, W-4s).

Human Resources and Office Support Administrative Tasks are (but not limited to) the following:

  • Provide general administrative and clerical support including mailing, scanning, copying, faxing, filing, re-labeling, organizing, inventory and other reports, and preparation for audits.
  • Greeting and directing visitors. Provide general support to the team.
  • Answer and direct phone calls. Take and forward messages.
  • Maintain electronic and hard copy filing systems, spreadsheets, and internally used document systems.
  • Receive, register, sort, and distribute incoming or outgoing correspondence.
  • Perform data entry and scan documents. Updating, creating, and managing trackers and logs, including inventory lists and support of audits.
  • Assist in making or following up on purchase orders, monitor office supplies inventory, and maintain and place orders.
  • Assistance and support in employee relation related tasks, company holidays organization, participation at company events including job fairs, seminars, business networking events.
  • Prepare and modify documents including correspondence, reports, drafts, memos, and emails per supervisor instructions.
  • General support of office administration, front desk, purchasing, finance/accounting and human resources related tasks assigned by the manager. This include preparation for company events, running errands, mailing correspondences at FedEx or USPS as well translate documents from English to Spanish if able to.
  • Regularly review employee timecards for accuracy
  • Resolve discrepancies and ensure timecards are corrected as needed.
  • Verify payroll data to ensure no errors and confirm timely processing.
  • Enrolling new employees in the time clock machines and training employees on how to use the time clock correctly.
  • Participate in employee investigations and assist with documenting interviews.
  • Conduct exit interviews and ensure proper documentation of employee separations.
  • Facilitate the completion of time-off request forms, direct deposit forms, address change forms, and various other forms by employees.
  • Assist in recruitment efforts and distribution of confidential employee-related paperwork.
  • Picking up supplies that are needed immediately.
  • Any additional Administrative or other tasks belonging to the department(s) assigned by the manager.

Skills and Specifications:

  • Must bee fluent in English. Spanish is an advantage (if Spanish is spoken fluently, interest in translating at company meetings, translation of documents).
  • 2-3 years of experience in recruiting personnel in the same sector or industry or other kinds of recruitment.
  • Has a knowledge of employment laws, especially regarding hiring and interviewing.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office skills (Word, Outlook, Powerpoint, Excel, Gmail, Google shared documents).
  • Pragmatic problem-solving skills.
  • High standard of attention to detail.
  • Be able to work fast and work under pressure.
  • Ability to manage time and prioritize work.
  • Able to do Overtime when required
  • Able to travel locally when necessary.
  • Effective communication skills for interacting with executives, middle-level managers, employees, job applicants, and the general public are crucial for a recruiter.
  • Be familiar with selection methods, different interview types, and Assessment Centers.

Language Skills:

English language skills are a must. Bilingual in Spanish is preferred.

Mathematical Skills:

Moderate math skills.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to identify, communicate, and solve various problems in various departments in addition to escalating needed issues.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a recruiter to successfully preform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job:

  • It is required to stand for some periods of time.
  • Sit for long periods of time.
  • Reach with hands and arms.
  • Walk on shopfloor and in the facility with stairs.

Work Environment:

  • Noise level may be excessive at times while on the production floor (adequate ear protection provided)
  • Safety glasses must be worn while on the production floor (adequate eye protection provided).
  • Company dress code policy and safety policy must be followed while performing job duties.
  • The incumbent is located in a busy, open-area office, or at the front desk in the lobby.
  • The incumbent is faced with constant interruptions and must meet with others on a regular basis. The employee in this role will enter the shopfloor and may enter several areas where chemicals are stored.
  • If additional PPE is required, it will be provided by Silicon Resourcing Solutions, LLC.
