Maintenance Mechanic

Pay: $37.00 - $38.00 per hour Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic Location: Vernon, CA Schedule: Full-Time | 1st Shift | Weekends Required Job Overview We are seeking an experienced and reliable Maintenance Mechanic to join our team in a fast-paced food production environment. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, hands‑on experience with industrial machinery, and the ability to work efficiently to minimize production downtime. This position plays a key role in maintaining production performance, equipment reliability, and workplace safety within our manufacturing facility. Key Responsibilities Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical and electrical issues on production and packaging equipment. Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on plant machinery. Disassemble, repair, rebuild, and reassemble mechanical components and systems. Maintain conveyors, motors, gearboxes, pumps, pneumatic systems, and other industrial equipment. Troubleshoot electrical systems, sensors, motors, controls, and related equipment. Assist with installation, setup, and commissioning of new equipment. Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns to minimize downtime and maintain production efficiency. Work closely with production and sanitation teams to support daily operations. Complete maintenance logs, work orders, and equipment documentation accurately. Follow all company safety policies, GMP, HACCP, and OSHA standards. Qualifications Minimum 3 years of experience as a Maintenance Mechanic in a manufacturing environment. Food manufacturing experience strongly preferred. Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting experience required. Pro Seal machine experience is required. Freeze Spiral machine experience is required. Cardboard Box machine experience is required. Strong knowledge of industrial mechanical systems and troubleshooting techniques. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals. Experience with conveyors, motors, gearboxes, bearings, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. Welding and fabrication experience is a plus. Ability to work in refrigerated or cold environments. Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Must be dependable, punctual, and able to work weekends as needed. Preferred Qualifications Experience in frozen or refrigerated food production facilities.
