Austin, Texas Occupational Medicine Physician Locum Tenens Opportunity

Rhino Medical is leading the charge seeking an experienced Physician for an Occupational Medicine and Urgent Care locum tenens opportunity in Austin, Texas .

This is a weekday outpatient assignment combining workplace injury care, occupational physicals, employer-directed medicine, and walk-in urgent care . Physicians will work a predictable Monday–Friday schedule with either 8:00 AM–5:00 PM or 9:00 AM–6:00 PM shifts and may support two centers within the Austin market.

Schedule

• Monday–Friday
• 8:00 AM–5:00 PM or 9:00 AM–6:00 PM
• Coverage may be divided between two centers based on scheduling needs

Clinical Scope

• Diagnose and treat work-related injuries
• Evaluate and treat urgent care patients on a walk-in basis
• Perform pre-placement physical examinations
• Perform DOT physical examinations
• Perform public safety physical examinations
• Perform medical surveillance examinations
• Provide occupational health services for private companies and governmental agencies
• Perform appropriate in-office procedures
• Evaluate musculoskeletal and other acute workplace injuries
• Provide return-to-work guidance and appropriate follow-up care
• Communicate directly with employers regarding occupational health matters
• Provide medical guidance within the employer health setting
• Coordinate referrals and escalation of care when clinically appropriate
• Complete timely clinical documentation

Candidate Requirements

• MD or DO
• Active, unrestricted Texas medical license
• DOT certification required prior to first shift
• Comfortable treating workplace injuries
• Comfortable evaluating walk-in urgent care patients
• Comfortable performing in-office procedures
• Comfortable performing occupational and DOT physical examinations
• Ability to communicate effectively with employers and provide appropriate medical guidance
• Flexibility to support two Austin-area centers if required
