Job Opportunity

Position Overview

This is a unique opportunity for a healthcare traveler looking to work in a dynamic environment. The position involves providing nursing care in a Progressive Care Unit. The assignment is scheduled for 36 hours per week following a week of orientation, although there are no guaranteed hours.

Location

City: Honolulu, HI

Unit Details

• 15-bed unit
• 3 Step Down ICU beds
• 12 telemetry beds
• Patient-to-nurse ratio: 1:4 for Progressive Care; 1:3 for Step Down ICU

General Job Duties

• Provide primary nursing care
• Monitor telemetry readings
• Read telemetry strips
• Perform fingerstick blood sugar tests

Equipment Utilized

• Meditech for charting
• Pyxis for medication management
• BIPAP machines
• Continuous cardiac monitoring systems

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of acute care hospital experience within the last year
• Experience in Progressive Care and telemetry is preferred
• Must possess a current Hawaii nursing license by the start of the assignment
• ACLS certification preferred
• PALS certification preferred
• NIHSS certification preferred

Floating Requirements

The candidate must be willing to float to other units or departments as required, including Medical, Surgical/Pediatrics, ICU, and ER.

Dress Code

Scrubs are the required attire for this position.

Additional Information

Candidates must arrive by the Thursday before their start date for an employee health appointment scheduled for Friday. Please ensure availability for this timeline before accepting the start date.
