As a PA with Ascension Seton Neurosurgery, you will evaluate emergency department patients, manage admitted neurosurgical patients in a hospital setting, see patients in outpatient clinic, and assist in neurosurgical cases in the operating room. You will be based out of Dell Seton Medical Center UT.

Position Highlights:

• Inpatient position

• Opportunity for extra shift pay

• Acute Care Certification is preferred for all PA applicants at the time of application

• APRN-First Assist Certification preferred and required to obtain within one year of start date

Responsibilities:

• Obtains patient history and performs assessment. Orders, performs and interprets diagnostic procedures.

• Provides and documents direct treatment and management of health conditions.

• Provides counseling and education of patients and their families/caregivers concerning preventative health, treatment options and community resources.

• Performs preventative health assessments, screening, immunizations and care.

What Minimum Requirements You'll Need Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

• Licensed Physician Assistant credentialed from the Texas Medical Board obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

• Certified Physician Assistant credentialed from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

• Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education:

• Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program. Master's degree preferred.

Work Experience:

• 1 year of experience preferred.
