Senior Health Assistant

The Senior Health Assistant is responsible for supporting healthcare professionals in delivering quality patient care, supervising junior health assistants, maintaining medical records, coordinating healthcare activities, and ensuring compliance with organizational policies and healthcare standards.

Assist doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals in providing patient care.

Supervise and guide junior health assistants and support staff.

Monitor patients' vital signs and report any significant changes to medical staff.

Maintain accurate patient records and ensure confidentiality.

Coordinate patient admissions, referrals, and follow-up appointments.

Administer medications and basic treatments as directed by healthcare professionals.

Educate patients and their families on health, hygiene, nutrition, and preventive care.

Ensure medical equipment and supplies are available and maintained.

Assist in organizing community health programs, immunization drives, and health awareness campaigns where applicable.

Follow infection prevention and control protocols.

Prepare reports and maintain documentation required by the organization.

Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and safety standards.

Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Health Sciences, Nursing, Public Health, or a related field.

Relevant certification or registration as required by local regulations.

35 years of experience in a healthcare or community health setting.

Experience supervising healthcare support staff is preferred.

Strong patient care and clinical support skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

Leadership and team coordination skills.

Knowledge of healthcare procedures and medical terminology.

Record-keeping and documentation skills.

Problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

Proficiency in basic computer applications and electronic health record systems.

Work in hospitals, clinics, primary health centers, or community healthcare settings.
