Responsibilities
- Plan and provide nursing care for obstetric patients across antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum periods, including emergency situations and circulating for C-sections.
- Monitor maternal and fetal status, assess amniotic fluid, vaginal bleeding, and respond to perinatal emergencies with appropriate clinical judgment.
- Develop and implement individualized, multidisciplinary care plans in collaboration with the health care team; document progress and patient responses accurately.
- Manage pain control during labor and delivery; support and implement alternative pain management strategies as appropriate; assist with epidural catheter placement and monitoring.
- Educate patients and families across all stages of the perinatal period, tailoring teaching to age, culture, and learning readiness; provide clear, legible documentation of care and outcomes.
- Apply knowledge of LDRP (Labor-Delivery-Recovery-Postpartum) processes, participate in high-stakes obstetric events, and demonstrate competency in fetal and maternal assessment during emergencies.

Requirements
- Licensure: Current RN license in the state of practice (California)
- Education: Associate Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred
- Experience: At least two years of recent Labor & Delivery experience
- Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS); Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS); Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP); Intermediate/Advanced Fetal Monitoring Course (AWHONN) required; EPIC experience required
- Additional: Experience with LDRP model preferred; ability to work night shifts and rotating shifts
