Assembly and Test Inspector , 3rd Shift (Onsite)

Job Summary This is an amazing opportunity for an Assembly and Test Inspector for our Product Delivery Center. The position is a 3rd shift, Sunday to Thursday, midnight to 7:00 AM. You will work 6.5 hours per night but be paid for 8 hours. Responsibilities Use a wide variety of power and mechanical tools to perform functional checks on engine assembly and components. Perform dimensional and visual inspections following standardized methods and established techniques. Conduct surface‑plate work or standard measuring techniques to verify accuracy of parts, tools, gauges, or other equipment. Accept or reject material based on findings and work from written inspection procedures and engineering drawings. Plan and perform dimensional and/or visual inspections on parts, tools, gauges and other equipment, and refer material for rework or quality review as necessary. Use a variety of fixed and variable measuring instruments, including automated measuring machines. Check dimensions, record results, and perform necessary mathematical computations to resolve extent of nonconformance and complete appropriate paperwork. Follow proper procedures to perform in‑line checks and verifications of dimensions and ensure operation sheets are being followed. Complete additional tasks within the scope and skill level of this job description in support of department objectives and to develop individual skills. What You Will Learn Skills, systems and processes critical to aerospace manufacturing within a state‑of‑the‑art facility. Interpretation and application of technical data to aid in the disassembly and assembly of commercial and military jet engines. Forklift, scissor lift and other powered industrial vehicle training. Basic Qualifications High school graduate or GED. 1+ year of formal training in power‑plant mechanics and testing or 1+ year of automotive training or experience. Preferred Qualifications A & P license. 4+ years in a similar function. Previous MRO/FAR 145 Repair Station experience. Formal training in power plant mechanics and testing. Well‑rounded knowledge of FAA and aviation standards, jet engine design and operation, jet engine hardware and components, instrumentation installations, engine assembly or test stand experience. Experience with SAP, Solumina. Creative troubleshooting skills. Excellent judgment and professional maturity. Ability to obtain and maintain certifications to operate powered industrial vehicles.
