Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Overview

This position involves working as a Float Pool Nurse, providing coverage across various departments, including the Emergency Department, ER hold, Medical Surgical, Telemetry, and Stepdown/PCU. The role requires flexibility and the ability to adapt to different clinical environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients across multiple units.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Participate in the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
• Float to various departments as needed, providing support during peak times.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care activities.

Work Schedule

Position requires night shifts, typically consisting of three 12-hour shifts per week. Candidates must be flexible with scheduling and cannot request block schedules due to the nature of float pool staffing.

Weekend and Holiday Requirements

Candidates are expected to work every other weekend. Additionally, travelers are required to work major holidays as follows:

• If assigned during one major holiday, the traveler must work it.
• If assigned during two major holidays, the traveler must work both.
• If assigned during three major holidays, the traveler must work two of the holidays.

Major holidays include:

• Memorial Day
• Independence Day
• Labor Day
• Thanksgiving/Black Friday
• Christmas Eve/Christmas Day
• New Year's Eve/New Year's Day

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience required.
• First-time travelers are accepted.
• Full compliance is mandatory to start on time, with potential for orientation periods based on contract length.

Compliance and Orientation

To ensure a smooth onboarding process, full compliance with all necessary certifications and requirements is expected. A bi-weekly orientation schedule is utilized, and number of non-billable orientation hours is determined by contract length.
