Staff Accountant | Denver - Hybrid
\n \nOur client is a well-established organization seeking a Staff Accountant to join its accounting and finance team. This is a great opportunity for an accounting professional looking to build on their experience in a supportive environment with exposure to a broad range of accounting functions. The ideal candidate will be detail oriented, organized, and eager to continue developing their accounting skill set.
\n \nResponsibilities
\n- \n
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year end close processes \n
- Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules \n
- Maintain and analyze general ledger accounts \n
- Assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash applications \n
- Support the preparation of monthly financial statements and management reports \n
- Research and resolve accounting discrepancies and variances \n
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and other financial analysis as needed \n
- Support external audits and tax-related requests by providing necessary documentation \n
- Help maintain accurate accounting records and ensure compliance with company policies and GAAP \n
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and efficiency \n
- Assist with various accounting projects and other duties as assigned \n
Qualifications
\n- \n
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field \n
- 1–3 years of accounting experience; public accounting experience is a plus \n
- Understanding of general accounting principles and GAAP \n
- Experience with journal entries, account reconciliations, and month end close \n
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills and experience with an ERP or accounting system \n
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills \n
- Excellent analytical and problem solving abilities \n
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with the broader accounting team \n
- Strong communication skills and a willingness to learn and take on additional responsibilities \n
