Director, Channel Management

Job Overview Position: Director of Channel Management– exempt, salary range $155,380 - $221,416 - $287,451 (pay scale information is indicative only). Location: On‑site at San Diego Headquarters or remote with management approval. Key Responsibilities Develop and execute the pharmacy channel management strategy to reduce net cost, improve outcomes, and enhance member experience. Analyze and optimize pharmacy utilization across retail, mail order, specialty, and alternative channels using financial, clinical, and behavioral levers. Identify channel‑based opportunities for client savings, such as site‑of‑care optimization, specialty channel strategies, and preferred pharmacy programs. Translate client objectives into actionable channel recommendations and implementation plans. Partner with Network Contracting, Underwriting, Analytics, Clinical, and Product teams to ensure initiatives are operationally feasible and financially sound. Support Sales and Account Management teams in new business and renewal efforts by providing channel strategy input and analysis. Conduct channel‑level financial modeling, scenario analysis, and cost trend analysis; develop and maintain performance metrics, dashboards, and reporting. Collaborate with Pharmacy Network Contracting to align channel strategies with reimbursement structures and network design. Serve as a subject‑matter resource for clients and internal teams on pharmacy channel strategy and utilization trends; participate in client meetings and strategic reviews. Track market trends, competitor strategies, regulatory developments, and emerging pharmacy channel innovations; contribute ideas for program enhancements. Manage assigned staff, including hiring, training, performance evaluation, and enforcement of company policies. Qualifications BA/BS degree or equivalent; minimum 10 years of related experience and 8 years of supervisory experience (or equivalent). Advanced proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project) and data analytics or visualization tools. Strong understanding of PBM channel economics (retail, mail, specialty, alternative) and ability to translate data into actionable insights. Experienced in influencing cross‑functional teams and stakeholders without direct authority. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including client‑facing presentations. Analytical mindset, quantitative reasoning, and problem‑solving skills.
