Registered Nurse (RN) - Stepdown

Registered Nurse Step-Down Unit

Night shifts, 3x12 hours per week, guaranteed 36 hours.

The unit consists of 29 beds, with a typical daily census of approximately 25 patients.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of bedside nursing experience required.
• Recent bedside experience within the last 6 months.
• Travel experience required.
• Trauma Level II experience required.
• Preferred previous charge experience.
• Pending license accepted.
• Certifications: ACLS, BCLS/BLS, NIHSS are required.
• Proficient experience in specific clinical skills such as titration of vasopressors and vasoactive drips, sedation management, insulin drip management, tracheostomy and vented patient care, arterial line management, and chest tube management.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-acuity nursing care, managing patients in a step-down unit following ICU discharge.
• Perform assessments and monitor vital signs to ensure patient safety.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for patient care.
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient progress accurately in the electronic health record.
• Float to lower-acuity floors as needed.

Weekend requirement of 2 shifts every other weekend. Free parking is available. Flu vaccine is required (medical/religious exemptions only).
