Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting high school students by providing essential services in a self-contained, functional curriculum classroom. This contract role is set in a collaborative environment where you'll work alongside two dedicated paraprofessionals and a Registered Behavior Technician, helping to deliver meaningful instruction and support to learners with unique needs. With the school year extending through May 26th, 2027, and a strong likelihood to continue for the following year based on performance, you’ll have the chance to impact lives and grow professionally.

Qualifications and Preferred Experience:

  • Valid Special Education GaPSC Certification, with SPED content coverage through 8th grade
  • Adapted Curriculum Endorsement required (district will consider applicants with pending credentials)
  • Experience working with lower functioning, self-contained populations strongly preferred
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans
  • Commitment to fostering a safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver instruction to students in a self-contained setting using a functional, adaptive curriculum
  • Collaborate daily with paraprofessionals and the Registered Behavior Technician to support student engagement and behavior interventions
  • Modify curriculum and teaching strategies based on individual student needs
  • Monitor student progress, collect data, and adjust plans for optimal academic and behavioral outcomes
  • Maintain compliance with documentation and program standards
  • Communicate proactively with colleagues and administration to ensure student success
