About the Opportunity

Our client is seeking dependable and hardworking Grounds Maintenance Technicians to help maintain the beauty, safety, and dignity of cemetery grounds. This position is ideal for candidates who enjoy working outdoors and have experience in landscaping, lawn care, grounds maintenance, or operating light equipment.

You'll play an important role in maintaining cemetery grounds while assisting with burial preparations and ensuring every service is conducted with professionalism and respect.

What You'll Do

• Perform routine grounds maintenance including mowing, trimming, edging, pruning, planting, and debris removal.
• Safely operate landscaping equipment including riding and push mowers, weed eaters, trimmers, edgers, leaf blowers, hedge trimmers, and other hand tools.
• Assist with grave preparation, opening, and closing under supervision.
• Operate backhoes, excavators, and other digging equipment when qualified.
• Prepare gravesites for services and restore sites following interments.
• Install markers, assist with vault placement, and maintain landscaped areas around monuments and memorials.
• Maintain parking lots and common areas through general cleanup and power washing.
• Perform seasonal landscaping including planting, overseeding, turf restoration, and tree branch removal.
• Inspect, clean, and perform routine maintenance on equipment while reporting repair needs.
• Follow OSHA regulations and company safety procedures while working respectfully around visitors and grieving families.

What We're Looking For

• Minimum of 1 year of grounds maintenance, landscaping, or lawn care experience.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Experience operating lawn maintenance equipment.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Strong work ethic with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication skills and a respectful, customer-focused attitude.

Preferred Qualifications

• Backhoe or excavator experience.
• Cemetery grounds maintenance experience.
• Experience operating tractors, Kubotas, Gators, ditch diggers, power washers, or similar equipment.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to regularly lift up to 75 lbs. and occasionally up to 100 lbs.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, push, and pull throughout the workday.
• Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions and around heavy equipment.

Schedule

• Monday - Friday
• Standard daytime hours
• No regular work outside of 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
