Project Manager

Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Electrical Project Manager to lead the successful execution of commercial and industrial electrical construction projects throughout the Chicagoland area. This individual will be responsible for managing projects from preconstruction through closeout, ensuring safety, quality, schedule, budget, and client satisfaction are maintained at every stage. The ideal candidate has a strong background in electrical construction, excels at leading project teams, and thrives in a fast-paced environment where multiple projects are managed simultaneously. Key Responsibilities Manage all phases of electrical construction projects from award through final completion. Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, forecasts, and cost controls. Coordinate with field leadership, subcontractors, vendors, engineers, and owners to ensure successful project execution. Review drawings, specifications, contracts, RFIs, submittals, and change orders. Procure equipment and materials while maintaining project budgets and delivery schedules. Lead project meetings and serve as the primary point of contact for clients and project stakeholders. Identify project risks and implement proactive solutions to maintain schedule and profitability. Monitor labor productivity and work closely with field supervision to maximize project performance. Ensure compliance with all safety standards, quality requirements, and company procedures. Support project closeout, including punch lists, commissioning coordination, and final documentation. Qualifications 5+ years of experience managing electrical construction projects. Experience with commercial, healthcare, industrial, mission critical, manufacturing, or institutional projects. Strong understanding of electrical systems, construction methods, and project delivery processes. Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and specifications. Experience managing project budgets, forecasting, and cost reporting. Excellent communication and leadership skills. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and construction management software such as Procore, Bluebeam, Primavera P6, or Microsoft Project. Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred but not required. Preferred Experience Managing projects valued between $5M and $50M in electrical scope. Experience with design-build and fast-track construction projects. Strong client-facing experience with owners, general contractors, and engineering teams. Knowledge of NEC and applicable local electrical codes. Experience leading multiple projects and mentoring assistant project managers.
