Laboratory Assistant

Description The Marie and Alexander Shipman Cerebral Palsy Muscle Disease Research Laboratory within UCLA Orthopedic Surgery is seeking to hire a full-time Laboratory Assistant. The Lab is dedicated to advancing the understanding of cerebral palsy and neuromuscular disorders through translational research. The lab studies muscle biology, tissue pathology, and disease mechanisms to support the development of improved treatments and outcomes for patients. Key responsibilities include: Support daily laboratory operations, including inventory management, supply ordering, and coordination of laboratory meetings Assist with onboarding laboratory volunteers and maintaining laboratory safety and compliance standards Coordinate human tissue specimen collection, processing, storage, and biobank activities Perform data entry and database management using RedCap and other research systems Support IRB compliance activities and maintain research documentation Maintain mammalian cell cultures, including routine monitoring and aseptic techniques Prepare tissue samples for research studies, including tissue sectioning using histological equipment such as cryostat Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient laboratory environment Salary range: $27.04/hr - $32.31/hr #J-18808-Ljbffr
