Line Leader

Line Leaders Recruit4staff is representing a leading food packaging company near Telford. The role offers £34,669.44 per annum, 4 on 3 off 12‑hour shifts (06:00‑18:00), permanent employment, regular pay reviews, training opportunities and a supportive team environment. Responsibilities: Liaise with QA team, Senior Line Leader and Production Manager to identify raw material and finished goods quality issues. Set up job/batch for processing and record all raw/packing material usage. Ensure and validate date code and country of origin information. Maintain sufficient raw material stock levels for continuous line operation. Ensure completion and signed‑off of all production‑related paperwork. Coach, mentor, organise and lead a team of production operatives. Communicate line processing targets to machine operatives. Perform any other duties deemed necessary to the needs of the business. Qualifications: Previous experience as a Line Leader or Supervisor in a food environment (ESSENTIAL). Aspirations to train and progress up the supervisory/production management ladder (PREFERRED). Prepared to demonstrate flexibility in your role and assist the Production Management team (ESSENTIAL). Attention to detail when documenting data. Internal Auditor and HACCP trained (ADVANTAGEOUS). Able to motivate a team. Good knowledge of Fresh Produce. Excellent attitude towards Health and Safety. Responsibilities: Set up machinery to correct tolerances for the production run. Ensure quality standards are adhered to; issues escalated to Line Leaders and/or QA. Verify correct packaging is used per production run, validated by Line Leader. Input correct date code information. Maintain sufficient raw material stock levels to run the line. Complete relevant paperwork. Set up all lines and machines ready for the following shift at shift end. Qualifications: Previous experience as a Machine Operator in a food environment (ESSENTIAL). Good spoken English and clear reading and writing ability (ESSENTIAL). Attention to detail in operating machinery (ESSENTIAL). Willingness to work varied shifts, including overtime, with flexibility (ESSENTIAL). Good communication skills. Team player. Flexible and positive approach. Good attitude towards Health and Safety.
