Development Test Engineer
Location: Auburn Hills, MI – Onsite Rate: DOE Experience: 2+ Years
Job Summary
Seeking a Development Test Engineer to test, calibrate, and optimize gasoline engine aftertreatment and emissions systems for ICE, hybrid, and electrified powertrains. The role includes dynamometer/vehicle testing, simulation, emissions analysis, calibration, and cross-functional collaboration.
Required Skills
- BS in Automotive, Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical/Computer Engineering from an ABET-accredited university
- 2+ years systems-level engineering experience
- ICE/Hybrid engines, powertrain, emissions, OBD, and calibration
- Port Fuel Injection (PFI) and Direct Injection (DI) spark ignition engines
- Emissions testing and global test cycles
- Powertrain data acquisition: INCA, CAS, AVL Concerto, TCKs, INTECRIO
- Modeling/simulation: GT-Power, AVL Boost, AxiSuite or similar
- Engine hardware, combustion, thermal systems, transmission, and electrified propulsion
- Emissions calibration, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis
- Understanding of emissions, OBD, fuel economy, drivability, cost, and NVH trade-offs
- Dynamometer/vehicle testing and technical data analysis
- Strong communication, leadership, problem-solving, and teamwork
- MS Office and technical reporting/presentation skills
