The Consultant, Pricing Operations & Controls is responsible for monitoring pricing performance, profitability, compliance, and operational controls across the pricing lifecycle. This role analyzes trends, identifies risks, investigates root causes, and drives corrective actions to improve pricing accuracy, protect gross profit, and reduce customer impact.
This position is a two-day hybrid role, reporting to our Vaughan Head Office.
The role partners closely with various internal stakeholders to ensure pricing controls remain effective and that emerging risks are identified before they result in significant financial or customer impact. This role is both strategic and tactical and requires ability to shift mindset between the two levels of performance as both are equally required.

Your Contributions to the Organization:
Understand product and category strategy, financial objectives, and pricing expectations to align control activities and analysis with broader business priorities
Protect revenue and profitability by proactively analyzing gross profit performance; monitoring negative and low gross profit trends; reviewing supplier contract and open-price profitability; and quantifying financial exposure associated with pricing exceptions
Strengthen pricing accuracy and compliance through the monitoring of pricing controls, governance standards, customer agreements, supplier contracts, and policy adherence, reducing pricing errors and operational risk
Monitor and drive key pricing controls through creation and use of metrics and dashboards; identifying process gaps and assessing control effectiveness
Prevent customer and financial Impact by identifying emerging pricing issues early, investigating root causes, and driving corrective actions (for example – reviewing pricing exceptions, investigating recurring discrepancies, and identifying emerging issues before they result in invoice disputes, credits, rebills, or profitability loss)
Enable data-driven decision making by providing actionable insights, performance reporting, dashboards, and trend analysis that support leadership in prioritizing opportunities and mitigating risks
Drive continuous improvement by identifying process gaps & root cause, recommending enhancements, and ensuring corrective actions are sustainable, improving operational efficiency and reducing recurring pricing issues
Promote cross-functional alignment by partnering with stakeholders across the organization to improve pricing performance, strengthen controls, and support key business initiatives
Manage the execution of a wide variety of price realization initiatives and ad-hoc analysis as needed to support business opportunities
Ability to grasp pricing strategy concepts, commercial processes, systems, and controls
This Job might be for you if:
Bachelor’s degree in finance/economics/math/analytics or post-secondary education with equivalent work experience, preferred
4 - 8 years’ experience in Financial Planning & Analysis, Pricing or Analytical / Strategic role, preferred
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with an ability to display quantitative information in tables, charts, power point presentations and other user-friendly visual forms
Ability to effectively document processes and deliver process improvements that address root cause identification
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to propose actions, identify and illustrate opportunities, make recommendations, and articulate financial impact of decisions to stakeholders with varying levels of technical ability and expertise
Data management and manipulation, with advanced Excel required; SQL, Tableau or BigQuery preferred
Solution oriented mindset driven by natural curiosity, with high rigor and discipline to meet demanding deadlines
Strong self-discipline for accountability, accuracy, and client service with comfort and confidence navigating ambiguity
Ability to effectively influence and advise at all levels of leadership (Manager to VP)

Votre rôle au sein de l’organisation:
Comprendre la stratégie relative aux produits et aux catégories, les objectifs financiers et les attentes en matière de tarification afin d’harmoniser les activités de contrôle et d’analyse sur les priorités plus générales de l’entreprise
Protéger les revenus et la rentabilité en analysant de manière proactive le rendement de la marge brute; en surveillant les tendances négatives et les faibles marges brutes; en examinant la rentabilité des contrats avec les fournisseurs et des prix non fixés; et en quantifiant le risque financier lié aux exceptions en matière de prix
Améliorer la précision et la conformité en matière de tarification grâce à la surveillance des contrôles de tarification, des normes de gouvernance, des ententes avec les clients, des contrats avec les fournisseurs et du respect des politiques, ce qui permet de réduire les erreurs de tarification et le risque opérationnel
Surveiller et favoriser les contrôles clés en matière de tarification grâce à la création et à l’utilisation d’indicateurs et de tableaux de bord; cerner les lacunes dans les processus et évaluer l’efficacité des contrôles
Prévenir les répercussions sur la clientèle et les résultats financiers en repérant rapidement les problèmes émergents liés à la tarification, en en analysant les causes profondes et en mettant en œuvre des mesures correctives (par exemple : examiner les exceptions tarifaires, enquêter sur les écarts récurrents et repérer les problèmes émergents avant qu’ils n’entraînent des contestations de factures, des crédits, des refacturations ou une perte de rentabilité)
Favoriser la prise de décisions fondées sur des données en fournissant des renseignements exploitables, des rapports de rendement, des tableaux de bord et des analyses de tendances qui aident la direction à établir des priorités parmi les occasions et à atténuer les risques
Favoriser l’amélioration continue en cernant les lacunes des processus et leurs causes profondes, en proposant des améliorations et en veillant à ce que les mesures correctives soient durables, afin d’améliorer l’efficacité opérationnelle et de réduire les problèmes récurrents liés à la tarification
Favoriser la coordination interfonctionnelle en collaborant avec les parties prenantes de l’ensemble de l’organisation afin d’améliorer le rendement en matière de tarification, de renforcer les contrôles et d’appuyer les initiatives d’affaires clés
Gérer la mise en œuvre d’un large éventail d’initiatives liées à la réalisation des prix et d’analyses ponctuelles, au besoin, afin de soutenir les occasions d’affaires
Capacité à comprendre les concepts liés à la stratégie de tarification, ainsi que les processus commerciaux, les systèmes et les contrôles
Ce poste vous est destiné si vous répondez aux critères suivants :
Un baccalauréat en finance, en économie, en mathématiques ou en analyse de données, ou une formation postsecondaire accompagnée d’une expérience de travail équivalente, est un atout.
De quatre à huit ans d’expérience en planification et analyse financières, en tarification ou dans un poste analytique ou stratégique sont un atout
Excellentes compétences en analyse et en résolution de problèmes, ainsi que la capacité de présenter des données quantitatives sous forme de tableaux, de graphiques, de présentations PowerPoint et d’autres supports visuels conviviaux
Capacité à documenter efficacement les processus et à mettre en œuvre des améliorations qui permettent de cerner les causes profondes des problèmes
Excellentes compétences en communication orale et écrite, notamment la capacité de proposer des mesures, de cerner et d’illustrer les possibilités, de formuler des recommandations et d’expliquer l’incidence financière des décisions à des parties prenantes possédant des niveaux variés de compétences techniques et d’expertise
Gestion et traitement des données; maîtrise avancée d’Excel obligatoire; connaissance de SQL, Tableau ou BigQuery un atout
