Payroll ManagerAs the Payroll Manager, you support the Accounting organization by overseeing day-to-day payroll operations for a large, multi-state workforce. This role plays an important part in ensuring payroll is processed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with all regulatory requirements, while also supporting process improvements as the business grows.You support and guide a team responsible for payroll execution, with a focus on day-to-day accuracy, timely processing, reporting, compliance, and team support. Our values—We Care, We Show Pride, We Are Passionate, and We Love Life—guide how we show up for our guests, our team members, and each other.Careers at Noodles are served with a side of:Pay range: $85,000-$100,000 annual salaryEligible for annual performance bonus up to 15%Flexible paid time offMedical, dental, and vision insurance401(k) and stock purchase discountsPaid maternity and paternity leaves, adoption, and surrogacy benefitsNoodles Resource Groups – inclusive communities that foster belonging, build connections, and support your personal and professional growthScholarship opportunities through Noodles FoundationMonthly technology stipendDiscounts through our gift card programLearn more about our benefits: day in the life:Oversee day-to-day payroll operations for a multi-state workforce, ensuring accurate and timely processing of weekly and bi-weekly payrollSupport and guide payroll team members, providing direction, prioritization, and developmentEnsure accurate processing of employee data changes, including new hires, transfers, promotions, and terminationsMaintain compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations, as well as internal controls and audit requirementsReview payroll reconciliations, audits, and validation processes to ensure accuracy and completenessPartner with Accounting to ensure accurate and timely payroll-related journal entries and reportingSupport 401(k) compliance and auditing processesEnsure payroll systems are maintained and updated to reflect current employee data, including wages, benefits, and PTOPrepare and maintain payroll reporting, including management reports, bonus files, and merit process supportServe as a resource for payroll questions and issue resolution from employees, managers, and internal teams, escalating complex matters as appropriatePartner with HR, HRIS, and other departments to ensure data accuracy and alignment across systemsSupport and help implement process improvements, system enhancements, and efficiencies within payroll operationsSupport payroll-related projects and initiatives, helping ensure changes are implemented accurately and consistentlyPerform other duties and special projects as assignedWhat you bring to the team:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience4–5+ years of payroll experience, including experience supporting teams, processes, or payroll operationsCertified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation preferredStrong knowledge of multi-state payroll processes and federal, state, and local payroll tax regulationsExperience working in high-volume, multi-unit, retail, restaurant, or consumer-facing environments preferredExperience with Workday Payroll, ADP, or similar payroll systems preferredStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve system or process issuesStrong attention to detail and ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environmentStrong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to partner effectively across departmentsProven ability to support, coach, and develop team membersExperience supporting projects or process improvements preferredAbility to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive informationThis is a hybrid role with 3 days per week in our Support Office in Broomfield, ColoradoNoodles & Company is an Equal Opportunity Employer and a Military Friendly workplace.
