Job Category: Academic Staff Employment Type: Regular Job Profile: Teaching Faculty I Job Summary: Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at the University of Wisconsin–Madison invites applications for a Teaching Faculty I or II position. Candidates with substantial teaching and/or professional experience may be considered for appointment at the Teaching Faculty II level. We seek an outstanding educator with a strong passion for teaching, a demonstrated commitment to student success, and the ability to deliver high-quality instruction across the fundamental required courses in industrial engineering. Preference will be given to candidates who can teach in high-demand and forward‑looking areas such as artificial intelligence in industrial engineering, engineering management, supply chain and logistics, and related emerging areas, as well as candidates with experience designing and delivering experiential, project‑based, or practice‑oriented learning courses. Key Job Responsibilities: Assist in developing techniques and/or model programs for carrying out instructional goals in the disciplinary area and may help identify ways in which new techniques could be of assistance. Provide classroom, online and/or laboratory instruction, including grading. Assess learner performance and prepare reports recommending instructional improvements. Develop teaching techniques that enhance course effectiveness in alignment with desired outcomes and established strategy. Supervise the day-to-day activities of work unit employees involved in instructional support as needed. May make presentations to faculty and staff members on instructional programs and techniques (for Teaching Faculty level II). Assist in defining the objectives of the program and play a major role in carrying out program duties. Required Qualifications: The ability to deliver high-quality instruction across the fundamental required courses in industrial engineering. One year of experience in engineering instruction or working with engineering students at the college level. Preferred Qualifications: Preference will be given to candidates who can teach in high-demand and forward‑looking areas such as artificial intelligence in industrial engineering, engineering management, supply chain and logistics, and related emerging areas, as well as candidates with experience designing and delivering experiential, project‑based, or practice‑oriented learning courses. The candidate’s years of experience and professional accomplishments will be commensurate with the title. Teaching Faculty II candidates must possess teaching experience. Education: Required: PhD in Industrial Engineering or a related field. Compensation: The starting salary for the position is $70,000 (negotiable based on experience and qualifications).
