Senior Financial Analyst

Irvine, CA Please note - company will only consider candidates local to the So Cal area. Leading global consumer products company Pay: $95-125K DOE plus bonus and an exceptional benefit package Needs: 2–4 years of technical accounting or corporate finance experience. Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting; clear progression toward an active CPA or MBA is highly preferred. A strong accounting/finance foundation who can connect general ledger dynamics straight to the P&L and cash flow statement. Must be a top-class finance candidate demonstrating excellent communication skills and a driven, hungry attitude eager to "do" and dive directly into complex data sets. ABOUT THE JOB The position will be a key contributor to the FP&A team, supporting financial planning, forecasting, reporting, and analysis across the organization. This role will build and maintain financial reports, analyze performance variances, support budget and forecast processes, and partner with business units and leadership to deliver accurate, actionable financial insights. This position will work closely with the Manager, FP&A and finance leadership to support executive and Board-level reporting, while helping continuously improve FP&A tools, processes, and data quality. RESPONSIBILITIES Prepare and maintain monthly and quarterly financial reporting packages, including management and Board-level materials Maintain Actuals vs. Budget vs. Forecast reporting with clear variance calculations and supporting analysis. Perform first-pass variance analysis, identifying trends, outliers, and drivers to support management review. Support forecast and budget processes, including: Maintain and enhance planning and reporting templates across financial systems Load data into reporting systems and validate inputs for accuracy and completeness Support annual budget and quarterly forecast preparation and support department leaders with financial analysis and reporting. Support cash flow forecasting and working capital analysis, monitoring DSO, DIO, and DPO trends and other drivers across businesses Maintain operational and financial KPI dashboards/scorecards for BU and corporate stakeholders Partner in monthly budget vs. actual analysis for corporate and other centralized departments, including commentary for key variance drivers and tracking of cost savings or other business opportunities. Work with accounting team to understand period results in order to forecast remainder of year. Support cost optimization and efficiency initiatives with analysis and tracking Prepare ad-hoc and routine reporting packages and presentations for support of Senior Executive and Board of Directors meetings QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting; CPA/MBA preferred 2-4 years of experience with relevant background in corporate finance or similar Strong working knowledge of accounting and finance operations Advanced Excel skills required Exceptional written/verbal communication skills and high attention to detail Ability to operate in fast-paced, dynamic environment, provide constructive feedback and balance workload with multiple and competing priorities Methodical and organized approach to completing projects.
