Travel RN - ICU

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Level II Trauma Center ICU position requiring at least 1 year of recent acute care ICU experience and a CO or compact RN license.

Job Details

• Work in a 38-bed general mixed ICU within a Level II Trauma Center,
• Care for a variety of Medical, Surgical, Cardiac, and Neurosurgery patients, including post-operative open-heart patients,
• Unit utilizes VV and VA ECMO, balloon pump, Impella, and CRRT,
• Patient ratios range from 2:1 to 1:1 depending on acuity,
• Unit staffed with approximately 16-18 staff members plus 1 charge nurse per shift,
• Uses Stryker beds, Avea ventilators, GE monitors, Baxter IV pumps, Maquet IABP, Vigilance II monitors, Impella, Maquet Cardiohelp and Medtronic Vital Flow ECMO equipment, and NICOM,
• Meditech EMR used for charting,
• Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM,
• 13-week assignment length,

Job Requirements

• Active RN license (CO or compact) currently in hand,
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS,
• Minimum 1 year of current acute care ICU hospital experience required,
• Prior Meditech EMR experience preferred,
• CVICU/CTICU experience with immediate post-operative open heart surgery patients preferred,
• Experience with bedside procedures such as bronchoscopies, GI scopes, chest tube insertion, and arterial and central line insertions,
• Comfortable with airway care and frequent drip titrations,
• US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration,

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care within a collaborative, team-oriented ICU environment,
• Assist with bedside procedures including bronchoscopies, GI scopes, chest tube insertions, and arterial and central line insertions,
• Perform airway care and manage frequent medication drip titrations,
• Team members should demonstrate strong attention to detail and collaborative teamwork,
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be considered for this travel position,
• Located near the mountains, offering access to skiing, hiking, and outdoor recreation year-round,
• No gaps in work history exceeding 90 days within the past 12 months are permitted
