The more you participate, the more you earn!The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining a safe, reliable, and compliant facility environment to support patient care. This role performs routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on building systems and equipment while ensuring adherence to safety and regulatory standards.SCHEDULEMonday-Friday 7am-3:30pm*Hours may vary with call backs**Weekend rotation: every 3rd weekendWORK LOCATION1300 South Jackson Street, Frankfort*Location may vary within Frankfort area with other buildingsKEY RESPONSIBILITIESPerform preventative maintenance and repairs on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systemsRespond promptly to work orders and urgent facility issues, especially in patient care areasSupport life safety systems, including fire alarms, emergency equipment, and drillsEnsure compliance with healthcare regulations (e.g., Joint Commission, NFPA, Environment of Care standards)Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities and inspectionsCoordinate with clinical staff, Environmental Services, and vendors to minimize disruption to patient careAssist with facility inspections, audits, and emergency response situationsPerforms scheduled and non-scheduled preventive maintenance, responding to dispatched general maintenance calls, and troubleshooting/repairing secondary utility systems of buildings, plumbing, air-conditioning, electrical and air systems.Maintains, repairs and inspects specialized machinery and equipment in accordance with code and regulatory requirements.Recommends through the appropriate channels any improvements and corrections to the facilities, equipment and/or systems that meet overall patient care needs.May require on-call, evenings, weekends, or emergency response.Work is performed in mechanical spaces, patient care areas, and outdoor environments.Performs routine building and grounds inspections.Performs other related duties as assigned.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSKnowledge of applicable building codes related to healthcare is preferred.REQUIREMENTSHigh School Diploma or GED required.May require a valid Indiana driver's license with proof of insurance.Requires general knowledge of specialized areas including electrical secondary systems, plumbing systems, fire system devices and air systems.Requires the ability to read and interpret information from blueprints, schematics and diagrams.Requires general knowledge in the use of power and hand tools.Requires basic computer skills.Requires a minimum of 2 years' relevant experience.This role is essential to ensuring a safe, compliant, and fully operational facility that supports high-quality patient care.About UsIndiana University Health has nearly 40,000 team members, including more than 3,600 physicians and 1,200 advanced practice providers, and we're home to the largest nursing network in Indiana with more than 9,000 nursing team members at over 800 sites of care.IU Health is ranked No. 1 in Indiana by U.S. News & World Report, Riley Children's Health is ranked among the top children's hospitals in the country by U.S. News & World Report.A unique partnership with the Indiana University School of Medicine – one of the nation's largest medical schools – gives patients access to groundbreaking research and innovative treatments, and it offers team members access to the latest science and the very best training – advancing healthcare for all.With 15 hospitals, including seven with Magnet designation and eight with Pathways to Excellence designation, our team members are leading the way through excellence.At Indiana University Health, your personal and professional growth is a top priority.
