Service Technician

Job Description

The Service Technician at RWE Design Build is a hands-on field position responsible for completing service, warranty, repair, and maintenance work at client locations. This role works independently and with project and operations teams to diagnose issues, complete quality repairs, communicate with clients, and document work.

Key Responsibilities:

\n

\n

Hands-On Service & Warranty Work

\n

● Perform assigned service, warranty, repair, and general handyman work at client locations.

\n

● Troubleshoot issues, identify root causes, and determine whether work can be completed directly or requires a licensed or specialty trade.

\n

● Complete minor carpentry, drywall, and painting repairs.

\n

● Complete basic plumbing and electrical repairs within the employee's training and authorization.

\n

● Repair doors, hardware, fixtures, cages, and kennels.

\n

● Assist project and field teams with complex or time-sensitive assignments and provide coverage as needed.

\n

Customer & Client Relations

\n

● Respond promptly and professionally to service and warranty requests.

\n

● Communicate findings, recommended solutions, timing, and job status to clients and internal team members.

\n

● Work carefully in occupied facilities, minimize disruption, and maintain strong customer relationships.

\n

\n

Job Coordination & Documentation

\n

● Organize and manage assigned work to ensure jobs are completed on time, within scope, and to client expectations.

\n

● Coordinate the materials, tools, and equipment needed for each assignment.

\n

● Document labor, materials, photos, findings, and completed work accurately and promptly.

\n

● Escalate scope changes, specialty-trade needs, and required follow-up to the appropriate manager

\n

\n

Quality & Safety

\n

● Ensure all work meets company quality standards, applicable requirements, and client expectations.

\n

● Follow safety procedures, use required personal protective equipment, and maintain clean, organized, hazard-free job sites.

\n

● Report safety concerns, property damage, and unresolved service issues promptly.

\n

Requirements:

\n

\n
• Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in construction, facilities maintenance, field service, or a similar trade-based role.
\n
• Working knowledge of commercial construction, repair, and maintenance processes.
\n
• Demonstrated proficiency with hand and power tools and general repair work, including carpentry, drywall, painting, basic plumbing and electrical, doors, hardware, and fixtures.
\n
• Strong troubleshooting, time management, and independent decision-making skills.
\n
• Excellent communication and customer-service skills.
\n
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
\n
• Ability to travel to job locations throughout the Tampa area and to other locations as business needs require.
\n
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship.
