Linux Administrator

A national technology leader is seeking a Linux Administrator to support and maintain development systems used to validate networking ASICs and software for next‑generation supercomputers. This is a hands‑on, high‑impact role where your work directly contributes to the performance and reliability of advanced computing platforms. Salary: $85,000 – $120,000 per year Shift: First Work hours: 8 AM – 4 PM Education: Bachelors Responsibilities Debug and fix prototype and emulation system issues as they occur to maximize uptime. Use Python and Bash scripting skills to support systems and testing. Maintain daily updates of development software stack on systems. Maintain and improve existing system status reporting infrastructure. Troubleshoot and debug system issues to isolate root cause of failures. Build compute node images with latest OS versions and software stack updates. Administer compute cluster for system validation team. Collaborate and communicate with management and internal partners regarding design status, project progress, and issue resolution. Technical Skills Commuting distance to Bloomington, MN or Chippewa Falls, WI Experience with servers, networks, filesystems, and Linux operating systems Familiarity with compute clusters (LSF, Slurm preferred) Experience with ASIC emulation platforms (Palladium, Veloce, Zebu) is a plus Strong scripting ability in Bash and Python Ability to work in a transparent, collaborative engineering environment Comfortable in a fast‑paced, problem‑solving environment Demonstrated analytical skills and attention to detail Excellent communication and organizational skills Curiosity and appetite for learning new technologies Qualifications Years of experience: 3 years Experience level: Experienced Linux Administration: 2 years of experience (required) Computer Hardware Experience: 1 year of experience (required) Data Center Engineering: 1 year of experience (preferred) Network Administration: 1 year of experience (preferred) VMware: 1 year of experience (preferred) Bash Scripting: 2 years of experience (required) Python Scripting: 2 years of experience (required) JavaScript: 2 years of experience (preferred) This posting is open for thirty (30) days.
