Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Surgical Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years of recent ICU experience. License: State nursing license required. Certifications: BLS and ACLS required; NIH certification required. Must-Have: - Surgical ICU, Trauma ICU, Burn ICU, or Transplant ICU experience preferred. - Experience floating to different units. - Call required. - First-time travelers accepted. Description: This position is for a Day Shift Traveler in a Surgical Intensive Care Unit. The schedule requires working every Saturday and Sunday, plus one additional day each week. The expected hours are 36 hours per week. You will be responsible for caring for patients with various surgical and traumatic conditions. Knowledge of arterial line management, chest tube insertion and removal, and ventilator care is essential. You will also manage blood product administration and oversee patients with multi-system organ dysfunction. You will work closely with interdisciplinary support teams, including physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy. Familiarity with electronic health record systems is preferred. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment are critical.
