About the Role

The Company is seeking an Interim General Counsel to provide maternity coverage. The successful candidate will lead the legal team, offering strategic and commercially minded legal support to the business. This role involves a wide range of responsibilities, including managing and developing the legal team, providing corporate and transactional legal advice, and ensuring compliance with a variety of legal areas such as advertising, data privacy, and intellectual property. The Interim General Counsel will also be expected to have a strong background in drafting and negotiating commercial contracts, as well as a deep understanding of regulatory matters, particularly in the areas of data use and protection, consumer protection, and e-commerce law. Applicants for the Interim General Counsel position at the company should have a JD degree, be licensed to practice law, and have at least 10 years' of generalist legal experience, with a preference for those who have worked in-house. The role requires a candidate with a strong background in commercial contract law, as well as experience in consumer packaged goods or e-commerce. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of data privacy laws, consumer protection frameworks, and marketing and advertising compliance. Exceptional communication, negotiation skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects with a sense of humor are essential. The position is temporary and part-time, with the expectation of a four-month duration, and is remote.
