About the Role

The Company is seeking an experienced General Counsel to join its Executive Leadership Team. The successful candidate will be the senior legal leader globally, providing strategic legal counsel and overseeing the legal, risk, and compliance functions. This role is pivotal in the company's mission to protect and enable its business, particularly as it expands globally and faces increasing legal, regulatory, and governance complexities. The General Counsel will be responsible for a wide range of legal matters, including corporate and commercial law, technology and SaaS contracts, privacy and data protection, regulatory compliance, employment issues, intellectual property, M&A, and corporate governance. The ideal candidate will have a Juris Doctor (JD) or regional equivalent, with at least 15 years' of post-qualification legal experience, and a strong background in commercial contracting, corporate law, privacy, data protection, and cybersecurity. They should be adept at leading and supporting M&A and corporate transactions, and have the ability to operate effectively across multiple jurisdictions. The role requires a leader who is commercially minded, can simplify complex legal issues, and is capable of influencing senior stakeholders globally. Experience in a scaling, venture-backed, or PE-backed global technology business is highly valued, as is exposure to legal frameworks such as ISO 27001, ISO 27701, and SOC 2. Fluency in another language, particularly French, is advantageous.
