Account Executive - Pharmacy Benefits Management

Key Responsibilities Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with client contacts at all levels. Serve as the primary point of contact for client inquiries and concerns. Proactively communicate with clients to ensure satisfaction and address any issues. Conduct regular client meetings to review performance, discuss trends, and identify opportunities for improvement. Account Growth: Develop and execute strategic account plans to drive growth within the existing client base as well as new client growth opportunities. Identify and pursue opportunities to expand services and increase revenue. Cross‑sell and upsell PBM products and services to meet client needs. Collaborate with internal teams to develop customized solutions for clients. Client Retention: Monitor client satisfaction levels and proactively address any issues to ensure retention. Conduct regular client surveys and feedback sessions to gather insights. Develop and implement retention strategies to prevent client attrition. Performance Management: Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor account health and performance. Develop and present reports to clients on service utilization, cost savings, and other relevant metrics. Identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as needed. Industry Knowledge: Stay abreast of industry trends, regulations, and best practices in PBM. Attend relevant conferences and webinars to maintain expertise. Share knowledge and insights with clients to enhance their understanding of PBM. Qualifications Master's degree in business administration (MBA) or a related field. Client relationship management skills, including experience serving as a primary contact, managing expectations, and driving client satisfaction and retention. Analytical and problem‑solving abilities, including comfort with claims data, reporting tools, financial metrics, and translating insights into actionable recommendations. Knowledge of pharmacy benefits, managed care, or health insurance, including formularies, utilization management programs, and cost‑containment strategies. Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex pharmacy and financial concepts clearly to diverse stakeholder groups. Organizational and time‑management skills, with the capacity to manage multiple accounts, deadlines, and projects in a fast‑paced environment. Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively with cross‑functional teams such as clinical, operations, finance, and analytics. Bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare administration, pharmacy, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. Previous experience in PBM, health plan, benefits consulting, or union/Taft Hartley benefits administration is strongly preferred.
