Penn Medicine Princeton Health (PMPH) is seeking a per diem Nursing Assistant (NA) to work the day shift within the Transitional Care Unit (TCU). TCU and the Emergency Department (ED) are collaborating using a new split flow model. The split flow model allows emergency services to continue delivering care to arriving patients while the newly admitted patient is handed off to the TCU RN. The TCU is imbedded in and adjacent to the ED.

Per Diem Scheduling Requirements:

• Required to work two, 7am-7pm shifts per 4 week schedule.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

• Assists nurses in the delivery of nursing care through participation in the nursing process. The patients plan of care and treatment will begin in the TCU.
• Displays a caring and responsive attitude and represents the Medical Center in a positive manner and conducts all activities respecting patient/customer rights and expectations. Regularly maintains a neat appearance and adheres to departmental dress, including the wearing of appropriate identification. Interpersonal relations with other health care workers are regularly fostered in a courteous and friendly manner as evidenced by managerial observation and peer input.
• Makes observations of patient condition and reports and documents information as requested. Has good communication skills with patients/families and co-workers and is able to make suggestions regarding the patient's needs for nursing care.
• Performs and documents nursing care activities as assigned, consistent with established procedures.

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Related Work Experience

• No experience required.

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIREMENT

• Basic Life Support (BLS) required

Salary Range: $18.73 - $29.31/Hourly As part of their job offer, successful candidates are provided a specific rate, taking into consideration various factors including experience and education.
