Meteorological Technician

THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a METEOROLOGICAL TECHNICIAN, Position Description Number D1817000 and is part of the 174TH ATKW, National Guard. This vacancy does not meet the criteria for appointment of annuitants. Military Grades ENLISTED General Experience Must have experience, education, or training performing meteorological watch; and communicating effectively orally and in writing. Experience using computer and automation systems. Specialized Experience Must have one year equivalent to at least next lower grade level experience, education, or training in applying principles and procedures of various meteorological models and forecasting techniques. Experience collecting, analyzing, interpreting, and evaluating numerous meteorological and oceanographic charts, planning, organizing and coordinating work. Experience measuring meteorological phenomena with scientific equipment and instrumentation. Experience observing and recording atmospheric characteristics, i.e., temperature, air movement, visibility, pressure, air density, cloud types. Experience decoding, plotting, and systematically recording data related to the physical characteristics of the atmosphere, i.e., charts, diagrams, cross sections. Experience collecting, analyzing, interpreting, adjusting, and verifying atmospheric and other meteorological data to confirm and improve accuracy and efficacy. #J-18808-Ljbffr
