The General Production Worker supports the manufacturing of large capital equipment assembly lines by performing general labor tasks across various departments. Working as part of a small, close-knit team, this role focuses on cleaning parts, assembling of components, and using hand and power tools to help keep production running smoothly and safely.

Responsibilities

• Clean and prepare parts and components prior to painting and assembly.
• Assemble components using hand and power tools according under a supervisor's direction.
• Handle, move, lift, push, pull, and carry parts and materials weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
• Inspect parts and assemblies visually and with basic measuring tools to identify obvious defects or issues.
• Follow established procedures and safety protocols in a shop environment, including the proper use of required PPE.
• Communicate clearly and effectively with team members and supervisors to coordinate work, report issues, and support smooth workflow.
• Stand, walk, climb stairs, and perform physical tasks such as reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling as needed to complete daily duties.
• Adapt to working around moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, chemicals, vibration, and high noise levels while following all safety guidelines.
• Support other departments as needed, such as machining, assembly, weld/fabrication, and engineering, to help meet production goals.

Essential Skills

• At least 2 years of experience as a laborer or production worker in a manufacturing or similar environment.
• Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
• Hands-on experience using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
• Basic experience in production, general labor, assembly, and inspection tasks.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience operating industrial machinery.
• Experience using sanders and grinders.
• Exposure to equipment such as CNC lathes and die machinery.
• Experience using a surface grinder.

Work Environment

The role is based in a custom-built manufacturing facility designed for producing large capital equipment assembly lines. The position is physically active and involves regular standing, walking, climbing stairs, and frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying of up to 50 pounds, along with occasional reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling. The schedule is 1st shift, Monday through Friday, from 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with voluntary overtime available on Sundays.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of FREDERICKTOWN, OH.

The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $19.00/hr.
