Cath Lab Nurse (RN) in Palisade, CO

An opportunity is available for a Registered Nurse skilled in the cardiac catheterization laboratory to provide essential technical and patient care support during invasive cardiovascular procedures. This contract position is based in Palisade, CO, offering a schedule with four 10-hour shifts per week, including weekends, with shared on-call obligations requiring a 30-minute response time for nights, weekends, and holidays.


Key Responsibilities:

• Support physicians and staff during cardiac and vascular invasive procedures, including radiological imaging and maintaining sterile environments.
• Operate imaging equipment in the control room, monitor procedures, and document all images and relevant events.
• Provide direct patient care under RN supervision and educate patients and families about procedural expectations and post-procedure care.
• Maintain unit organization, cleanliness, and appropriate inventory levels for complex interventions and diagnostics.
• Complete accurate daily, progress, and discharge documentation in compliance with departmental standards.
• Participate in quality improvement and patient safety programs, identifying and addressing potential hazards and opportunities for enhanced patient satisfaction.
• Uphold the mission, vision, and values of the healthcare organization, adhering to established service behavior standards.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid single-state or Compact RN license.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in cardiac catheterization laboratory nursing.
• Certification requirements include BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), and NIHSS.
• Ability to respond within 30 minutes during on-call hours.
