IP Patent Docket Specialist

Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP, a leading global law firm, is hiring a Docket Specialist to support our Intellectual Property Patent Support Unit (PATSU). The role reports to the Docket Supervisor and coordinates all aspects of the patent computerized docket system, interacting daily with practice group lawyers and staff. Work Location & Flexibility Positions available in San Francisco, Silicon Valley (Palo Alto), Orange County, Century City, Los Angeles, Seattle, Houston, Boston, Philadelphia, Chicago, Washington D.C. A hybrid in‑office/remote schedule is available, with flexibility for overtime. Key Responsibilities Coordination of all areas of the CPI database, including all information related to each application and docket due dates, and remarks. Handling incoming domestic and foreign client communications. Processing incoming Patent and Trademark Office communications filed in the Patent Office. Delivering electronic communications in accordance with departmental procedures. Providing docket, status, and maintenance reports to patent personnel and lawyers. Experience and Qualifications High school diploma and at least one year of docketing experience, or equivalent knowledge of patent processes. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel). Excellent written and oral communication skills and exceptional attention to detail. Effective time‑management and organizational skills to prioritize work and handle multiple projects simultaneously. Ability to work well under pressure in a collaborative team environment. For Century City, Los Angeles and Orange County, CA: $67,400–$107,825. For Chicago, IL: $62,000–$99,200. For Seattle, WA and Washington, D.C.: $64,700–$103,475. For San Francisco and Silicon Valley, CA: $70,070–$112,093. Final salary will be determined during the interview process and may include an annual discretionary bonus and participation in a 401(k) plan along with company‑sponsored health, dental, vision, life, disability, accidental death and dismemberment, business travel accident insurance, health savings and flexible spending accounts.
