Job Details Job Location: Michigan City, IN 46360 Position Type: Full Time Education Level: High School Travel Percentage: Up to 50% Job Shift: Day Job Category: Health Care Responsibilities Escort patients to the proper chair and prepare them for examination and treatment as directed by the dentist. Assist the hygienist with periodontal charting. Sterilize instruments using an autoclave. Prevent the spread of disease and infection by maintaining a clean and sterile work environment in compliance with CDC infection control guidelines (HealthLinc policy) under the direction of the infection control coordinator. Clean, sterilize, and store dental instruments and equipment as directed. Maintain weekly and monthly checks of all dental equipment and machinery. Track and log sterilization cycles. Assist dental staff in cleaning the operatory after patients are treated. Prepare various impression materials. Log temperatures for cooling units daily. Maintain AED compliance. Help maintain X-ray equipment. Arrange instruments, equipment, materials, and medication on the chairside tray in advance of procedures for quick turnover between patients. Follow specific company and OSHA procedures when handling hazardous materials. Maintain and update MSDS when needed. Maintain adequate supply levels of office/operative inventory. Receive deliveries of supplies. Prepare the operatory and sterilization room before patients arrive. Generate quality improvement initiatives that align with and support Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH). Other job responsibilities as assigned within the scope of the job.
