Job Description\n American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN ED - Emergency Department for a travel nursing job in Brooklyn, New York.Job Description & Requirements\n \n Specialty: ED - Emergency Department\n Discipline: RN\n Start Date: 10/19/2026\n Duration: 12 weeks\n 36 hours per week\n Shift: 12 hours, nights\n Employment Type: Travel\n \n Assignment Overview\n \n Shift: Nights, 3x12hrs\n Hours: 36 hrs/wk\n Start Date: Oct 19, 2026\n Length: 12 weeks\n Openings: 3\n Description\n American Traveler is hiring an experienced Emergency Department RN for a Level I/II Trauma Center supporting a combined adult and pediatric ED, requiring NY RN licensure and trauma center experience.Details\n \n Combined adult and pediatric Emergency Department in a Level I/Level II Trauma Center\n Department sees approximately 265 patients daily across 53 rooms\n Patient population includes neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, and adults\n 3x12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM\n Every other weekend required based on departmental needs\n 36 hours of orientation provided\n 24/7 provider coverage from NPs, hospitalists, and anesthesiologists\n Support services available including IV Team, Phlebotomy, Radiology, Rapid Response, Respiratory, Social Services, and Transportation\n Requirements\n \n Active NY RN license required\n BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications required\n Minimum of 2 years RN experience required\n Level I and/or Level II Trauma Center experience required\n General Emergency Department experience with both adult and pediatric patients required\n EPIC charting experience required\n Experience with dysrhythmia interpretation, 12-lead EKG/ECG, and blood product administration\n Skilled in central line care, phlebotomy, IV starts, and continuous IV paralytics/sedation\n Experience managing CVA, TBI, spinal cord injury, and hypothermia protocols\n Experience with pediatric abdominal pain, infection, respiratory infection, and seizures\n Experience with acute psychosis, overdose, psychiatric holds, and violent behavior management\n Skilled in BiPAP/CPAP, ventilator management, chest tube care, ABG interpretation, and intubation\n Experience with trauma cases including gunshot wounds and traumatic amputations\n Charge nurse experience preferred\n Teaching hospital, LTAC, and community hospital experience preferred\n Additional Information\n \n Provide comprehensive emergency care to a wide range of patients from neonates to adults\n Utilize EPIC for documentation and Omnicell for medication administration\n Hunter Green scrubs required\n COVID vaccination required with no exceptions\n Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate\n RTO limited to 5 days or less, with no time off permitted within the first 2 weeks of assignment\n Previous staff must have a 1-year gap before returning as a traveler\n First-time travelers are welcome to apply\n Employee parking provided at no cost upon badge issuance, with street parking also available\n \n \n American Traveler Job ID #P-755831.
