• Required Licenses/Certifications: Active RN license, BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Experience: 2+ years of acute care RN experience; first-time travelers must have 2 years of perm staff RN experience in acute care

What You'll Do:

• Provide direct patient care to adults with complex conditions such as respiratory failure, sepsis, stroke, DKA, post-heart cath, post-aortogram/arteriogram, and more
• Manage patient assessments and prioritize care based on acuity and unit policies
• Administer medications, including drips and infusions like Levophed, Amiodarone, Cardizem, and Insulin
• Perform procedures such as CVL management, Foley catheter care, tube feedings, arterial lines, and blood glucose monitoring
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members including RTs, hospitalists, therapists, and support staff
• Document patient care accurately using Meditech Expanse EMR system
• Float as required to other units such as Stroke or Med/Surg, maintaining flexibility and professionalism

What You Need:

• Valid RN license in Louisiana or eligible for licensure
• Current BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications
• Minimum of 2 years of recent acute care RN experience (first-time travelers must meet this requirement)
• Ability to pass an EKG competency exam prior to start
• Strong clinical skills including vascular access, medication management, and critical thinking
• Flexibility to work scheduled holidays and weekends; no on-call required
