Senior Accountant

A well-established organization in Melville, NY is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its corporate accounting team. This role is ideal for an experienced accounting professional who brings strong GAAP knowledge, public accounting foundations, and hands-on general ledger expertise. The Senior Accountant will play a key role in monthly close activities, balance sheet analysis, reconciliations, and special projects that support a mature and well-run finance function. This position offers a hybrid schedule requiring onsite presence 3 days per week. Key Responsibilities Perform monthly account reconciliations and general ledger analysis Conduct balance sheet trend analysis and prepare related reporting Monitor assigned accounts for exposure and elevate concerns to management Research and resolve account discrepancies Test ledger backup and support internal control procedures Participate in the month-end close process Assist with financial statement transmission and reporting Support physical inventory counts and fixed asset audits Assist with internal and use tax audits related to fixed assets Contribute to special projects and provide support across the accounting team Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field (or equivalent experience) 3+ years of relevant accounting experience Strong working knowledge of GAAP and ability to research authoritative guidance CPA required Audit experience from a large regional or international public accounting firm preferred Advanced Excel skills Strong initiative with the ability to present solution options, not just issues Excellent analytical, organizational, communication, and time management skills #J-18808-Ljbffr
